Visit from North India
West Midlands Synod has a long-standing partnership with the Church of North India. Bishop Sameer Khimla of Durgapur and a colleague will be visiting Shrewsbury URC on Sunday 5th November. We are all invited to meet them at 4pm and hear about their work.
Church Meeting November 26th
Our next Church Meeting has a number of important issues to discuss and we would like every member of the congregation to be part of that conversation. A proposal has been made that our pulpit is redundant, we should discuss how we update the Vestry and we need to consider how the Eldership moves forward. Please make every effort to be there and to offer your ideas and thoughts during the discussion.
The Church itself, like the Hall next door, has now been equipment with a computer, projector and screen to enable presentations to be made both in the weekly services and for other events.
Users will need to have a reasonable working knowledge of a computer and be able to follow the instructions/guidance provided. It cannot always be guaranteed that someone will be available to assist. Training prior to an event/service can often be arranged.
It is suggested that any material for use should be prepared and loaded from a memory stick, which can then be used with the computer. Since most users want to operate with PowerPoint, it is essential that users understand how to use that particular element of Microsoft Office themselves.
